That article provides a suitable background for Theresa M. Crem’s presentation, below, of the merits of governmental aid to private education. Dr. Crem takes up the principles de ned in the Church’s social teachings and applies them concisely to the current academic and political scene. She concludes that Catholic parents have the right to expect their government to assist them in providing for the education of their children.
